When it was first announced that there was going to be a new translation of the Mass, I’m sure many renowned composers were very upset and probably said something like “Oh no– there goes my life’s work!” Fortunately, I don’t have that problem (being renowned) so it was actually an opportunity to have my work more widely heard. Presented here for the first time is my St Gerard Mass. It’s dedicated to St. Gerard of Majella, who of course is the patron saint of Expectant Mothers. Apparently, St Gerard had the ability to levitate and bi-locate, some abilities that would definitely come in useful as a high school teacher…
This mass contains a Lord Have Mercy, a Gloria, a Holy Holy and a Lamb of God. I may add a Gospel Acclamation and Acclamation of Faith in time. The mass was written and recorded over July 2011.
