Jingles

I’ve only written a couple of jingles in my time as a songwriter… but I must say they are a lot of fun. One of my first successful submissions (meaning I actually heard back from them) was a jingle for KFC , which I mailed to Young & Rubicam Ad Agency in New York as a 19-year old. They wrote back, expressing interest in the song. Alas, it was not to be: their own stable of staff jingle writers were not impressed with this submission from some upstart kid in Canada and jettisoned my song. My dreams of being a jingle writer evaporated… To this day, I still think Colonel Sanders missed out on some finger-licking good music!
