Pop Songs

I began my interest in music writing with what can loosely be termed “pop songs”. During my early 20’s I had the chance to collaborate with several songwriters through the Pacific Songwriter’s Association. We wrote in several genres, including country songs, pop ballads, and even commercial jingles. I learned a lot from working with these more established writers, and I’ve tried to apply some of those lessons since that time to my work. My cardinal rules: no long introductions, get to the good part in 40 seconds or less, and make sure the title is fairly obvious. I hope the songs here stick in your head and keep you humming the rest of the day!
